Team Roster
The Harpeth Bicycles Racing Team is made up of a riders of various experience levels. We have riders ranging from brand new to racing up to experienced USAC Category 4 racers. Click on the USAC Category levels next to each rider’s name to view past USAC race results.
Jay Spiegel – USAC Category 4
Jay was hooked after his first training race in ‘06. He raced 5s in ‘07 and part of ‘08 winning his last race at that category after a successful season of several top 5 finishes. He is now working to get some results in the 4s after scaring the top 10 a few times.
Brad Wormer – USAC Category 4
Brad has several years of racing experience and is serving as Team Vice President and Ride Coordinator. He is currently riding his fixed gear up a steep hill.
Les Wooldridge – USAC Masters Category
Les raced with Tristar Racing team for several years then turned his attention to triathlons. He has done much of the skills training for the Harpeth Bike Club for many years and looks forward to working with the Harpeth Bicycles Racing team.
Jonathan Woody – USAC Category 5
Jonathan is the owner of Harpeth Bicycles and is new to road racing for 2010. He has several years of experience riding and racing mountain bikes, and has turned those skills into several top ten results this season.
Brian Wilson – USAC Category 4
Brian has raced for several seasons and is also our videographer. Watch for his work on this site in future updates.
Mark Horne – USAC Category 4
Mark started road racing in ‘09 as a Cat 5 and won the Nashville Cyclist crit series and had several top 5 finishes. He is looking forward to competing as a 4 in 2010.
James Martinez – USAC Category 5
James is new to racing this season, but has several seasons of riding under his belt already. He is serving as the Harpeth Bicycles Team Treasurer, as he’s the only person that we trust with the money.
Michael Barber – USAC Category 5
Michael has loved bicycles his whole life. After purchasing a road bike in 2008 and competing in a few local crits in 2009 he was hooked. He has joined the team for the 2010 season to become stronger, smarter, and more competitive.
Nathan Taylor – USAC Category 5
Nathan started riding in the summer of 2008 and has been hopelessly addicted ever since. 2010 will be his first season racing and his goals are to get stronger, race smart, and lead out the team sprinters.
Fred Cothren – USAC Category 5
Fred is an accomplished long distance mountain bike racer who has been known to join the team on road rides and races from time to time as well. He also rounds out the talented mechanic’s roster at Harpeth Bicycles.
Chris Smith – USAC Category 5
Chris Smith is one of the mechanics at Harpeth Bicycles. Chris has several years of racing experience in mountain bike racing, cyclocross, and road.
Jeff Summers – USAC Category 5
Jeff rides with Harpeth Racing and hopes to be able to help the team out with some races and events in 2010.
Todd Essig – USAC Category 5
Todd comes to the team via the Adventure Racing world. An experienced mountain biker, Todd will be racing as a cat 5 in the 2010 season unless we can convince him to upgrade.
Chap Cuthbert – USAC Category 4
After taking 15 years off from racing, Chap is looking forward to seeing how his “old” body responds to a full season of Cat-4 and Masters racing.
Shawn Ewing – USAC Category 5
Shawn has raced with several of our team members in the past and will no doubt prove to be a contender in the Cat 5 races next year.
Mitch Boult – USAC Category 4
Mitch started racing with Harpeth Bicycles last season and was on the podium several times. He upgraded to Cat 4 at the end of the season and is a strong addition to our roster.
Thaddeus Corbin – USAC Category 5
Thad is joining Team Harpeth Bicycles as a Cat 5 for 2010. He has some experience with racing and hopes to be competitive in the upcoming season.
Chris Anderson – USAC Category 5
Chris has ridden with Team Harpeth Bicycles in past seasons and will be joining the team as a Cat 5 for 2010. He has some experience with racing and hopes to be competitive in the upcoming season.
Brian Rejack – USAC Category 5
Brian is joining the team for 2010. He raced with the team during the second half of the 2009 season and hopes to be competitive as a Cat 5 in the upcoming season.
